FAQ and Important Information

We have endeavoured to provide as much information as possible regarding your stay in Fiji. Should you require information on anything else, please do not hesitate to contact Craig Kouimanis (ckouimanis@paragem.com.au)

Fiji is 2 hours ahead AEST.
The official language of Fiji is Fijian, Hindi however, English is widely spoken and understood.
The currency used in Fiji is the Fijian dollar (FJ$) and is approximately 1.48 Fijian dollars to the Australian dollar. All major credit cards are accepted, however if you are venturing out, please double check with restaurants as some only accept cash. ATMs can be found at the International Airport in the arrival concourse area including currency exchange.
The power supply in Fiji is 240 volts and the plug type is the same as Australia.
The weather is hot and humid. The average temperature during the day is 30 degrees Celsius and during the night 21 degrees Celsius. If it does rain, you can expect a tropical storm.
You will need at least 6 months on your passport to travel to Fiji. We highly recommend taking out full travel insurance cover with a respected travel insurance provider.
Quarantine-free travel is open in Fiji. We highly recommend that you have a copy of your COVID Vaccination Certificate confirming two doses with the QR Code either in hard copy or on your iPhone/android.
Fiji has good health care should you require any assistance. We recommend that you speak with The InterContinental Fiji Resort & Spa to request their advice on whether you need to visit a health clinic or the hospital. Depending on the health situation in Fiji during October and Fijian laws, doctors may be unable to visit the hotel directly. Please DO NOT drink the tap water, use it to clean your teeth and we suggest not including ice in your drinks. The InterContinental Fiji Resort & Spa will provide you with bottled water throughout your stay.

Getting around Fiji is very easy via taxi. There is no UBER in Fiji.
Transportation will be provided for all delegates and their partners/family on coaches from/to the airport on the conference dates only.

Exclusive conference rates are available 3 nights either side of the conference dates, based on availability at the time of booking. You can extend your stay by selecting your check in and check out dates on the registration form.

Additional nights’ accommodation will be booked directly with The InterContinental Fiji Resort & Spa, and you will be responsible for any additional night’s accommodation outside of the conference dates (9th October – 13th October for Principals and 10th – 13th October for conference delegates). Please refer to the website for the exclusive conference accommodation rates. Additional accommodation nights will be confirmed via email and will be presented to you by the hotel on check out, for you to pay direct.

If you have any special requests such as additional rooms, interconnecting room, please get in touch with us as soon as you can, as accommodation is based on availability at the time of booking and cannot be guaranteed until a booking is made.

We encourage bringing along the whole family! To confirm a price, please email Craig Kouimanis (ckouimanis@paragem.com.au) and provide the following information:

  • a. Ages of the child/children
  • b. Number of additional rooms required
  • c. If any are interconnecting rooms
We suggest wearing cotton or linen as they are both breathable fabrics, as it will be hot. All conference areas are air conditioned, so please bring a light coat and/or sweater.
